Tips on Search Engine Optimization
- Focus on relevant keywords - make sure that you are using keywords in a manner that makes sense to a visitor and will allow the search engines to "see" your site as a subject matter expert.
- Generate clean code – avoid extraneous code, use include files, balance code to content.
- Site Architecture - Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links.
- Content is king – good, relevant content is critical.
- Sitemap – let the search engines know the location of all the pages.
Tips on Conversion
- Focus! Don’t make your visitors think or distract them - give them what they want, lead them to what they should do – Buy Now, Register Now.
- Use landing pages - Use a different landing page for each group of keyphrases (both organic and SEO).
- Communicate Trust – privacy policy, secure connection, partner list, experience etc.
- Balance information - If they are not yet sold on your product or service, then they are going to be looking for more detailed information when they arrive at your landing page. Give it to them.
- Clear call to action - If you want them to buy your product, then tell them often how to do it ("Click here to buy"). If you want them to call you, post the number up with instructions ("Call us now at 1-877-xxx-xxxx").
- Underline links, make buttons bold and noticeable.
